Question and Answers for potential clients

What is a Speech-Language Pathologist?

According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Speech-Language Pathologists (or SLPs) are experts in communication. They treat many types of communication and swallowing problems. These include problems with speech sounds, language, literacy, social communication, voice, stuttering, feeding and swallowing.

My child already receives speech therapy at school. Why should I pay for private therapy?

We know your child’s school-based SLP is doing a wonderful job! However, therapy at school is often done in a group setting, which can result in limitations when it comes to intensive intervention. At Beyond Words Therapy Clinic, PLLC, we provide individualized one-on-one therapy targeting your child’s specific areas of need.

What is your attendance/cancellation policy?

We understand that people get sick and emergencies happen, so you may have to cancel! We respectfully request that you avoid frequent cancellations or “no-shows.” All cancellations must be submitted 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. A fee of $35 may be assessed if cancellations are made less than the required 24 hours. The fee may be waived if the client reschedules the session in the same week. If the client fails to show up for the scheduled appointment and does not contact the clinic, the full session rate will be charged. If the client misses 3 sessions, the clinic reserves the right to dismiss the client from therapy.

Do you accept insurance?

We are in network with some insurance.

How can I pay for evaluations or therapy sessions?

Beyond Words Therapy Clinic, PLLC, accepts personal checks, cash, and debit or credit cards. Payment is due at the time of service.
